Burglar alarms · Intruder alarms
Reliable wired, wireless and hybrid alarm systems that are easy to set, quick to alert you and planned around your home, your routine and your pets.

Intruder alarm installation
An intruder alarm is still one of the most effective ways to protect a property, and today’s systems are far smarter and easier to live with than the alarms many people remember.
We install alarms that suit how you use your home or premises: part-set modes for night time, pet-tolerant detection, key fobs for quick setting and app control so you always know your alarm’s status.
Before recommending anything, we’ll explain the difference between wired and wireless systems and the signalling options available, so you can choose with confidence.
Why fit an alarm
A well-designed intruder alarm protects your property around the clock and gives you instant awareness when something isn’t right.
An external sounder and strobe signal that the property is alarmed before anyone tries a door or window.
A loud internal and external alarm alerts everyone nearby the moment a detector is triggered.
App-enabled alarms notify you when the system is triggered, set or unset, and show which zone activated.
Part-set modes protect downstairs and outbuildings at night while you move freely upstairs.
Pet-tolerant detectors and careful positioning reduce false alarms from cats and dogs.
Some insurers ask for an alarm or offer different terms where a suitable system is fitted.
Inside your alarm
Every alarm is built from a few core components. We choose and position each one to suit your property.
The brain of the system, with battery backup so protection continues during a power cut.
Simple, reliable setting with individual codes for each user.
Set and unset with a tap or a button press.
Check status and set or unset remotely on app-enabled systems.
Arm only the areas you choose, such as downstairs at night or a garage when you’re at home.
Passive infrared (PIR) and dual-technology detectors cover rooms, hallways and landings.
Designed to ignore smaller animals when installed correctly.
Trigger instantly when a protected door or window opens.
Extend protection to garages, sheds and workshops.
Discreet panic buttons can be added to the same alarm, so you can set it off if you ever feel threatened.
A weatherproof bell box with strobe acts as a deterrent outside, while an internal sounder alerts anyone inside.
Audible and visual warning on site, with no ongoing monitoring.
Your phone is alerted whenever the alarm is triggered.
An alarm receiving centre is notified and contacts your keyholders.
A matching dummy box on the rear elevation increases the visible deterrent at low cost.
Choosing your system
All three can provide excellent protection. The best choice depends on your property, decor and plans.
Detectors are cabled back to the control panel, giving a very dependable system with no detector batteries to replace.
Detectors communicate with the panel by radio, so installation is fast and tidy with very little disruption.
A wired control panel and detectors with wireless devices added wherever cabling would be difficult.
Alarms in everyday life
The best alarm is one you actually use. We set yours up so it’s quick, simple and dependable for everyone.

Call 0800 888 6772Wired alarms connect each detector to the control panel with cable, making them very dependable and low maintenance. Wireless alarms use radio signals and batteries, so installation is quicker and tidier, especially in finished homes. Hybrid systems combine both. We will explain which suits your property.
A bells-only alarm sounds its siren and flashes its strobe when triggered, relying on people nearby to respond. A self-monitored (smart) alarm also sends notifications to your phone. Monitored alarms connect to an alarm receiving centre that contacts nominated keyholders. If you are interested in police response, ask us and we will explain the requirements involved.
Pet-tolerant motion detectors are designed to ignore smaller animals, and careful positioning makes a big difference. Tell us about your pets during the survey and we will plan detection around them.
Yes, with an app-enabled alarm you can set, unset and check your system remotely, receive alerts and see which detector was triggered. Keypads and key fobs can still be used at home.
In the UK, intruder alarms are graded from 1 to 4 under the BS EN 50131 series of standards (applied here through PD 6662), based on the level of risk. Grade 2 is typically used for homes and lower-risk commercial premises, while Grade 3 is used for higher-risk sites. Your insurer may specify a grade, so it is worth checking your policy.
Some insurers offer different terms when a suitable alarm is fitted, and some require one for higher-value properties. Requirements vary, so check with your insurer before installation and we will make sure the system meets what they ask for wherever possible.
Yes. Regular servicing keeps detectors, batteries, sirens and signalling working correctly and helps prevent false alarms. We recommend at least an annual service, and some insurers or monitoring arrangements require it.
Only if the alarm meets the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) security systems policy. In short, it must be installed and maintained by a company certified by a UKAS-accredited body such as NSI or SSAIB, meet BS EN 50131 and PD 6662, use confirmation technology (BS 8243) and be monitored by an approved alarm receiving centre. The police then issue a unique reference number (URN), and you need at least two keyholders who can attend within 20 minutes. Bells-only and self-monitored alarms do not get an automatic police response, so if you see evidence of a crime, call 999. We will explain honestly which option suits your property.
